Verse 1:
B F#m E
When I was younger I saw my daddy cry and curse at the wind
   B F#m E
He broke his own heart and I watched as he tried to reassemble it
    B F#m E
And my mamma swore she would never let herself forget
    B F#m
And that was the day that I promised: I'd never sing of love if it does not
E
exist

But darling

Chorus 1:
B
You are the only exception
F#m E
You are the only exception
B
You are the only exception
F#m E B
You are the only exception

Verse 2:
B F#m E
Maybe I know, somewhere, deep in my soul, that love never lasts
    B F#m E
And we've got to find other ways to make it alone, but keep a straight face
    B F#m E
And I've always lived like this: keeping a comfortable distance
    B F#m E
And up until now, I've sworn to myself that I'm content with loneliness
       B
'Cause none of it was ever worth the risk

Chorus 2:
      B
Well, you are the only exception
F#m E
You are the only exception
B
You are the only exception
F#m E C#m
You are the only exception

Bridge:
C#m | C#m | B | F#(x2)
           C#m
I've got a tight grip on reality
                 B F#
But I can't, let go of what's in front of me here
              C#m
I know you're leaving in the morning, when you wake up
         B F#
Leave me with some kind of proof it's not a dream
        C#m
Whoa...

Chorus 3: (2x)
B
You are the only exception
F#m E
You are the only exception
B
You are the only exception
F#m E B
You are the only exception

Outro:
    F#m E B
And I'm on my way to believing

(Strum once for the last three chords)
        F#m E B
Oh, and I'm on my way to believing

This is spectacular I have never seen a website where music is displayed this way. But then again I guess I never really looked. I use to play the violin wooohhh back in the days, but when I did I definitely enjoyed it. I appreciate your expertise on this and keep up the good work!

Hey Munoz! Thanks for the comment. It could be useful as well for violins (even if it’s better to learn how to read notes on a partition). However, it’s truly a good thing for us guitarists. If you ever decide to play the guitar, come back here 😉
